ICC World Cup Cricket 2011 opening ceremony was held in Bangladesh at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday – 17th February, 2011. All the 14 participating countries’ captains are taken around the new look of the stadium by rickshaw ride. Bangladesh presented fusing tradition with modernity involving rickshaw in the opening ceremony of Cricket World Cup 2011.

First match of ICC World Cup Cricket 2011 is played between India Vs Bangladesh on 19th February, 2011 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The match is won by India with 87 runs. Virendra Sehwag scored 175 runs for India. Virat Kohli also played well and scored 100 runs. India scored total 370 runs by 4 wickets however; Bangladesh achieved only 283 runs by 9 wickets. Sachin was not able to hit 200 runs like his previous performance.
