IBPS announced job vacancies for Probationary Officer / Management Trainee posts in the 19 Public Sector Banks. It is approved by all the 19 participating Public Sector Banks and the Managing Committee of the Indian Bank’s Association (IBA) with the consent of Government of India.
What is IBPS?
IBPS is the short form of Institute of Banking Personal Selection. IBPS is a method of brining Public Sector Banks together through a Single Common Examination system called Common Written Examination (CWE).
IBPS is an autonomous body which is registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 and a Public Trust under Bombay Trust Act 1950. It has been authorized by IBA for Common Written Examination (CWE). IBPS will conduct CWE for Probationary Officer / Management Trainee posts twice a year.

You need to cross through CWE to join in any of the above Public Sector Banks as a Probationary Officer / Management Trainee. Eligible candidates who wish to appear for the CWE will have to apply to IBPS. Candidates should read carefully the advertisement regarding eligibility criteria, online registration process, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters and score cards.
Candidates can check their status after appearing in the CWE. Scorecards will be issued for the minimum qualifying marks.
Each participating Public Sector Bank is independent to issue a separate recruitment notification. Each bank will be able to shortlist candidates individually and carry out their own selection process such as group discussion and / or interviews etc. for final selections.
Successful candidates in the CWE will be able to apply to any of the participating banks they wish to, quoting their personal details and their CWE scores.
IBPS Eligibility Criteria (as on 1st July, 2011):
A candidate should fulfill the basic eligibility criteria and nationality / citizenship to appear in CWE for 19 Public Sector Banks.
IBPS Recruitment 2011 Age (as on 1st July, 2011):
Minimum age should be 20 years and maximum age should be 30 years. The maximum age limit is specified for general candidates.
IBPS PO Recruitment 2011 Educational Qualification (as on 1st July, 2011):
A candidate should have a degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
IBPS CWE Written Examination Structure:
There will be 5 types of questions – 1. Reasoning, 2. English Language, 3. Quantitative Aptitude, 4. General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry) and 5. Computer Knowledge. Each subject would have 50 questions of a composite time of 150 minutes. There will be a descriptive type of paper on English Composition (Essay, Précis, Letter Writing etc.) of maximum 25 marks and 60 minutes. So, there will be 250 questions of maximum 250 numbers which have to solve in total 210 minutes.
There will be the system of negative marking also. One fourth or 0.25 of the marks will be deducted as penalty.
IBPS Cutoff Score:
Each candidate will have to secure a minimum standardized score in each of the tests to qualify CWE.
IBPS CWE Score Card:
Score Cards for each of the qualifying candidates will be sent by IBPS to the correspondence address specified in his/her online application by registered / speed post. IBPS score cards will be valid for one year from the date of issue.
How to Apply:
Candidates are advised to apply online only from 9th July to 1st August, 2011. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Application Fees / Intimation Charges:
SC/ST/PWD candidates have to pay Rs. 50 only. All other candidates have to pay Rs. 450. These fees are payable from 8th July to 30th July, 2011. Mode of payment is available in both – online and offline.
IBPS Call Letters for Written Test:
IBPS CWE has been tentatively fixed for 18th September, 2011. Date of examination, centre and venue address will be intimated in the IBPS CWE call letters.
Important Dates for IBPS:
Online registration starts from 9th July, 2011. Payment of application fees is open from 8th July to 30th July, 2011. Last date for online registration is 1st August, 2011. Last date for editing application details is 3rd August, 2011. Download of call letter for IBPS PO recruitment 2011 written examination will be available after 4th September, 2011. I dont have my e-receipt, as my system crashed down.Would there be any problem to give the exam without the e receipt.Even the helpline number of IBPS is not working.Please hepl me out.I am really tensed.
i m not getting my maharashtra bank online application ,,, please help me out... as soon as possible as i had passes ibps examss....
